大克鼎又名克鼎和膳夫克鼎，与此鼎同出的还有小鼎七件、盨二件、钟六件、鎛一件，都是膳夫克所作之器。因此称此鼎为大克鼎，小鼎为小克鼎。西周孝王时名叫克的大贵族为祭祀祖父而铸造。
Dake Ding, also known as Keding and Dingfuke Ding, is accompanied by seven small Ding pieces, two cups, six bells and one hairpin, all of which are made by Dingfuke. Therefore, this tripod is called Dake tripod and Xiao Ding is Xiaoke tripod. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the great nobleman named Ke was cast to worship his grandfather.
造型宏伟古朴，鼎口之上竖立双耳，底部三足已开始向西周晚期的兽蹄形演化，显得沉稳坚实。纹饰是三组对称的变体夔纹和宽阔的窃曲纹，线条雄浑流畅。由于窃曲纹如同浪峰波谷环绕器身，因此又叫波曲纹。
The shape is magnificent and simple, with ears erected above the mouth of the tripod, and the bottom tripods have begun to evolve into the shape of animal hooves in the late Western Zhou Dynasty, which is stable and solid. Patterns are three sets of symmetrical variants and broad burglary patterns, with vigorous and smooth lines. Because the ripple is like the wave crest and trough around the body, it is also called ripple.
